2012 CODEquest Course Agenda
While the physician is ultimately responsible for CPT and diagnosis code selection, each member of the ophthalmic team plays a vital part in coding and documentation of the medical record. This six (6) hour course is designed to assist the ophthalmic team to appropriately code for proper reimbursement.
This is an intermediate course designed for physicians, billing/coding staff, and technicians with more than two years of experience in coding and documentation.
Newly Expanded Course Includes Two Hours on ICD-10 — Explore, Educate, Execute!
Morning Session (Three hours)
Step-by-step instructions to give attendees ICD-10 confidence including:
- How physician and technician documentation must change
- What coders and billers need to watch for to assure claims are submitted accurately
- What administrators/office managers need to know to assure a smooth transition and coding compliance
- Practical application and real world examples to assure proficiency with ICD-10
- What’s new in 2012: CPT (including new codes for contact lenses), ICD-9 (big changes for glaucoma and retina), PQRS, E-Prescribing and audit update
Afternoon Session (Three hours)
- Exams scenarios :
> Two exams, same patient, same day, same doctor
